News: The United States got a ninth-minute penalty kick from Josh Wolff and tied Scotland 1-1 Saturday, the final game of the year for the Americans in their preparations for the World Cup.
Andy Webster scored for the Scots on a 37th-minute header in an exhibition game in which both teams tested young players. Wolff nearly had a second goal in the 43rd minute, missing wide of the post from close range.
The Americans, who will be appearing in a fifth straight World Cup, finished the year with a 13-3-4 mark, a record number of wins.
The United States is ranked No. 7 by FIFA while Scotland is No. 62. Scotland failed to reach the World Cup in Germany and is regrouping for qualification for the 2008 European Championship.
