News: Asian skaters dominated the 500-meter races at the World Cup short track speedskating meet Saturday, with Ahn Hyun-soo edging Eric Bedard and Apolo Anton Ohno in the men's event.
Ahn of South Korea won in 41.994 seconds, followed by Bedard of Canada (42.210) and Ohno of the United States (42.362).
Ohno beat Francois-Louis Tremblay of Canada for the bronze medal. Ohno won gold in the 1,500-meter final Friday, an event he won at the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics.
Wang Meng of China won the women's final in 44.070, ahead of Evgenia Radanova of Bulgaria and Kalyna Roberge of Canada.
The event, which continues Sunday with long-distance and relay races, will help determine qualifiers for the Turin Olympics in February.
