News: The council also voted to create an international circuit of one-day meets, with the intent of holding 'fewer but better meetings,' Davies said. 'The aim is that only the best-quality competitions will be staged under the IAAF brand.'
There will be 24 meets on the circuit, compared with 35 IAAF meets this year. The circuit, to be called the World Athletics Tour, will consist of meets on two levels.
On the higher level, the current IAAF Golden League classification will be retained along with a new classification called Super Grand Prix; the second level will be called Grand Prix. All will count toward qualification for the World Athletics Final.
