News: The Spanish king fired the starting gun from the Swedish tall ship Gotheborg, a replica of an East India merchant sailing ship that is on a two-year voyage to China. The flagship of the Spanish navy, the aircraft carrier Principe de Asturias, also was on hand.
'To have a Spanish team in this race after 12 years shows that our sailing is on the rise,' said the king, referring movistar, the Spanish entry. 'Let's see if things go well for them, I've wished them all the luck in the world.'
